The Dog Days Of Summer

There's a time to get after it. There's a time to reset.

I took the above photo at 8:30 p.m. on August 4, while sitting on a dock in the bay.

I'd decided to unplug for two hours or so.

It was good, it was my summer break.

What I'm going to suggest next goes against a lot of what I write, say and do.

And no, this year I will not be taking my own advice, which is this:

Unplug.

The Dog Days of Summer are passing.

We are into the final days before reality kicks back in on September 8.

After that long weekend, it is Go Time.

But this week?

Know that nearly 100% of your outbound calls will go to voicemail.
And that inbound calls will be light as well.

So...

If you feel you can afford a breather...
If you're confident you will double down from September 8 on...

And if you know you will bust your ass to have a monster run through December 17, which is about the final funding date you want to deal with in 2026...

Then pause.

Breathe.

Sit still in the sunshine.

Wiggle your toes in some sand.

Scrunch up some green grass between ’em.

Enjoy the last of the longer evenings.

There's a time to get after it.

There's a time to reset.

And the reality is that the pickings will be leaner over the next two weeks.

But...

For those of you who are hungry...

For those of you who cannot afford a breather...

Some of your competition will be taking the advice above.

Not enough of them, but some.

So get after it.

You know which camp you’re in.

You know which camp you should be in.

Act accordingly.
